Localities

At the type locality, the Millsite boulder, Gråurdfjellet, Oppdal, Trøndelag, Norway, millsite occurs as a minor secondary phase alongside teineite, other copper secondaries and relict primary tellurides in a boulder of quartz-rich granite, which is probably a glacial erratic. Millsite is bright cyan to royal blue in colour, transparent to slightly translucent and with a vitreous lustre (MM 82.433-444).
Associated minerals include teineite, schmitterite, quartz, mcalpineite, malachite, hessite, gold and goethite (Mindat).
