Hydrothermal environments

Naumannite occurs in hydrothermal veins deficient in sulphur, associated with other selenides, quartz, and carbonates (Webmin, HOM). Associated minerals include clausthalite, aguilarite, acanthite, tiemannite, umangite, eucairite, argentian tetrahedrite, argentian gold, pyrite and chalcopyrite (HOM).

Localities

The type locality is Tilkerode, Harz, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany.
