Ozerovaite is a relatively new mineral, approved in 2016 and to date (March 2024) reported only from the type locality

Localities

At the type locality, the Second scoria cone, Northern Breakthrough, Great Fissure eruption, Tolbachik Volcanic field, Milkovsky District, Kamchatka Krai, Russia, ozerovaite was found in the fumarole as tabular crystals, 0.04 × 0.02 × 0.004 mm3 average size, with aggregates of 0.02 to 0.3 mm. Associated minerals include ponomarevite, piypite, dolerophanite, euchlorine, sylvite, lammerite, johillerite, urusovite, bradaczekite, filatovite, hatertite, hematite, tenorite and wrightite (EJM 31.1.159-166).
