At the type locality, Petrovice, Nové Město na Moravě, Žďár nad Sázavou District, Vysočina Region, Czech Republic,
petrovicite forms tabular crystals up to a few tenths of a millimetre in size in hydrothermal
dolomite-calcite veins. It is
almost completely replaced by umangite and
eskebornite
(AM 62.594-595).
Associated minerals include berzelianite,
eucairite, crookesite,
tyrrellite, ferroselite,
bukovite, krut'aite,
athabascaite, umangite,
eskebornite, calcite and
dolomite
(HOM).
