Relianceite-(K) is a new mineral, approved in 2020 and to date (May 2023) reported only from the type locality.

Localities

At the type locality, the 125 foot level, Rowley Mine, Theba, Painted Rock Mining District, Painted Rock Mountains, Maricopa county, Arizona, USA, relianceite-(K) was found in a hot and humid area of the mine, in an unusual bat guano-related, post-mining assemblage of phases AM 107.1657-1658). It occurred as sky-blue prismatic crystals, up to about 0.1 mm in length. Other secondary minerals associated with relianceite-(K) are wulfenite, willemite, vanadinite, struvite, salammoniac, rowleyite, mottramite, mimetite, fluorite, dendoraite-(NH4) and antipinite (MM 86.4.539-547).
