At the Hemlo gold deposit, Bomby Township, Thunder Bay District, Ontario, Canada routhierite occurs as anhedral grains up to 300 pm across,
  associated with pyrite, stibnite,
  realgar, cinnabar,

  sphalerite and
  tetrahedrite-tennantite
  AM 75.935, HOM).

At the type locality, Jas Roux, La Chapelle-en-Valgaudemar, Hautes-Alpes, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, France, routhierite occurs in
complex, epithermal, sediment-hosted, thallium-rich ores in hydrothermal deposits in dolostone
  (Webmin, HOM). Associated minerals
