Saneroite occurs in veins in manganese ores associated with low-grade prehnite-pumpellyite facies metamorphism (Webmin).

Localities

At the type locality, the Valgraveglia Mine, Reppia, Ne, Genoa, Liguria, Italy, saneroite occurs in veins in manganese ores associated with low-grade prehnite-pumpellyite facies metamorphic recrystallisation of siliceous-hematitic sediments. Associated minerals include quartz, baryte, caryopilite and ganophyllite (AM 66.1277-1278, HOM).

At Fianel, Ausserferrera, Ferrera, Viamala Region, Grisons, Switzerland, saneroite is associated with medaite, palenzonaite, pyrobelonite, fianelite, parsettensite, rhodochrosite, kutnohorite, aegirine and quartz (HOM).
