At the type locality, Bawana Mine, Beaver county, Utah, USA, stringhamite occurs in fractures in diopside-magnetite skarn near a contact between quartz monzonite and limestone, (Mindat, Dana) together with secondary and primary copper minerals (Webmin), associated with thaumasite, tenorite, kinoite and calcite (AM61.189, HOM).
