Tazheranite occurs in magnesia skarns and carbonatites, and also in meteorites (Mindat).

Localities

At the Allende meteorite, Pueblito de Allende, Chihuahua, Mexico, tazheranite occurs in the carbonaceous chondrite meteorite associated with allendeite and perovskite (HOM).

At the type locality, the Tazheranskii Massif, Lake Baikal area, Irkutsk Oblast, Russia, tazheranite occurs in calc-silicate marble banding periclase-brucite marble xenoliths in the alkalic massif. Associated minerals include spinel, forsterite, åkermanite-gehlenite, clinohumite, ludwigite, azoproite, magnesioferrite, calzirtite, baddeleyite, geikielite, perovskite, rutile, zircon, dolomite and calcite (HOM).
