At the type locality, the Tazheranskii Massif, Lake Baikal area, Irkutsk Oblast, Russia, tazheranite occurs
in calc-silicate
marble banding
periclase-brucite
marble xenoliths in the alkalic massif. Associated minerals
include spinel, forsterite,
åkermanite-gehlenite,
clinohumite, ludwigite,
azoproite, magnesioferrite,
calzirtite, baddeleyite,
geikielite, perovskite,
rutile, zircon,
dolomite and calcite
(HOM).
