Localities

The type locality is the Buckwheat pit, Franklin Mine, Franklin, Franklin Mining District, Sussex County, New Jersey, USA. Here yeatmanite occurs as crystalline plates embedded in willemite and associated with sarkinite in thin veins cutting granular ore (AM 23.527-530, AM 51.1494-1500) in a metamorphosed, weathered zinc-manganese deposit (Webmin). Other associated minerals include calcite, diopside, andradite and roméite (HOM), and also johnbaumite (AM 65.1143-1145).
