Pegmatites

Yusupovite is a relatively new mineral, approved in 2014 and to date (September 2026) reported only from the type locality.

Localities

At the type locality, Dara-i-Pioz Massif, Districts of Republican Subordination, Tajikistan, yusupovite was found in a pegmatite composed mainly of reedmergnerite, aegirine, microcline and polylithionite. It occurs as prismatic grains about 2 mm in size embedded in reedmergnerite; associated minerals include quartz, pectolite, zeravshanite, mendeleevite-(Ce), fluorite, leucosphenite, a pyrochlore group mineral, neptunite, telyushenkoite, moskvinite-(Y) and shibkovite. Yusupovite is colourless, transparent with a white streak and vitreous lustre (AM 100.7.1502-1508).
