Localities

At the type locality, the Silver Coin Mine, Valmy, Iron Point Mining District, Humboldt County, Nevada, USA, Zinclipscombite occurs as spheroidal, fibrous aggregates up to 2.5 mm across; the fibres have a thickness of about 20 µm. The zinclipscombite is a secondary mineral in the oxidation zone of the hydrothermal vein-type deposit. Associated minerals include apophyllite, quartz, baryte, jarosite, plumbojarosite, turquoise and calcite (Mindat, HOM).
