Caryinite is a rare arsenate, found almost exclusively in Sweden.

At the type locality, Långban, Filipstad, Värmland, Sweden, caryinite occurs in veinlets in skarn in a manganese-iron metamorphosed orebody, associated with hedyphane, hausmannite, calcite and berzeliite (Mindat HOM).

Caryinite alters to berzeliite (Mindat).
