Localities
At the type locality, the Suluchekinskoye Se-U deposit, Dzharkenskaya Depression, Middle Ili River, Almaty Region,
Kazakhstan, dzharkenite occurs as octahedral crystals, sometimes modified by the dodecahedron, in
selenium-uranium ores in
quartz-sandstone. It forms
intergrowths with goethite,
ferroselite, and an unnamed selenide
of copper, cobalt,
nickel and iron
(AM 81.1013-1017, Mindat).
At the Zapadno-Ozernoye Cu deposit, Uchalinsky District, Bashkortostan, Russia, dzharkenite occurs in a massive
sulphide deposit, associated with pyrite,
galena, tetrahedrite,
metacinnabar, tiemannite,
sulphur, gold and
selenium
(HOM).
