Localities

The type locality, the Tsumeb mine, Tsumeb, Oshikoto Region, Namibia, is the only known locality for fahleite to date (March 2021). Here fahleite was found on oxidised tennantitechalcocite ore from a deep oxidised zone of a dolostone-hosted hydrothermal polymetallic ore deposit (HOM). Associated minerals include lavendulan, cuprian adamite, conichalcite, tsumcorite, tennantite, chalcocite, quartz, calcite, gypsum and smolyaninovite ( HOM, Dana).
