Localities

At the type locality, the Driekop mine, Sekhukhuneland, Burgersfort, Fetakgomo Tubatse Local Municipality, Sekhukhune District Municipality, Limpopo, South Africa, the deposit is an ultramafic platinum group element deposit in a magnesian dunite subvertical cylindrical pipe. The magnesian dunite is rimmed by iron-rich wehrlite and clinopyroxene pegmatite. The core zone is iron-rich dunite and wehrlite with magnesian dunite (Mindat)
Geversite was identified as tiny grains in platinum concentrates. The associated minerals are braggite, cooperite, copper, chalcopyrite, gold, hollingworthite, osmiridium, laurite, irodsmine, pentlandite, platinum, pyrrhotite, sperrylite, stibiopalladinite and valleriite (R&M 97.3.278-279).
