Homilite occurs in veins in augite nepheline syenite associated with allanite, meliphanite, titanite, zircon, aegirine, löllingite, astrophyllite, melanocerite, nordenskiöldine, wöhlerite, hiortdahlite and molybdenite (HOM, Dana).

Localities

At Tre Croci, Vetralla, Viterbo Province, Lazio, Italy, homilite was discovered in a volcanic ejectum (Mindat).

At the type locality, Stokkøya, Langesundsfjorden, Larvik, Vestfold og Telemark, Norway, homilite was found in nepheline syenite pegmatites associated with meliphanite (Mindat).
