Localities

There are two co-type localities, the Hagendorf South Pegmatite, Hagendorf, Waidhaus, Neustadt an der Waldnaab District, Upper Palatinate, Bavaria, Germany, and the Foote Lithium Co. Mine, Kings Mountain Mining District, Cleveland county, North Carolina, USA. At these localities kayrobertsonite crystals occur as intergrown masses of snow-white, soft, finely fibrous needles, less than 5 μm in diameter and no more than 100 μm in length (EJM 28: 649-654).

At the Hagendorf South Pegmatite, Hagendorf, Waidhaus, Neustadt an der Waldnaab District, Upper Palatinate, Bavaria, Germany, kayrobertsonite has been found associated with zwieselite-triplite, fluorapatite, nordgauite, whiteite-(CaMnMn), members of the jahnsite group, morinite, fluellite and aluminium-bearing strunzite (HOM).

At Silbergrube, Waidhaus, Neustadt an der Waldnaab District, Upper Palatinate, Bavaria, Germany, kayrobertsonite has been found with jahnsite (Mindat photo).

At the Foote Lithium Co. Mine, Kings Mountain Mining District, Cleveland county, North Carolina, USA, kayrobertsonite has been found associated with spodumene, mangangordonite, variscite, eosphorite, kastningite, paravauxite, beraunite, strengite, strunzite and cacoxenite (HOM).
