Localities

At the Broken Hammer Deposit, Wisner Township, Greater Sudbury, Ontario, Canada, malyshevite occurs in the contact aureole of an impact melt sheet, associated with lisiguangite (HOM).

At the type locality, the Srednyaya Padma mine, Zaonezhie peninsula, Medvezhyegorsky District, Republic of Karelia, Russia, malyshevite occurs as lead-grey rim-shaped and irregular cluster segregations around clausthalite and quartz, replacing padmaite, in a roscoelite-chromceladonite - dolomite veinlet bearing selenide and precious metals mineralisation. Associated minerals include sudovikovite, sobolevskite, roscoelite, quartz, polarite, padmaite, moncheite, insizwaite, hematite, gold, froodite, dolomite, clausthalite, chromceladonite and bismuth (Mindat).
