Manganostibite is a peculiar compound known only from Långban, Filipstad, Värmland County, Sweden. It occurs in late-stage hydrothermal veins in manganese deposits in limestone, associated with hausmannite, sonolite, katoptrite, manganoan humite and garnet (HOM).
The type locality is the Brattfors Mine, Nordmark Odal Field, Filipstad, Värmland County, Sweden, where manganostibite was found in skarn bands associated with sonolite and katoptrite in marble (AM 55.1489-1499).
