Patrónite is commonly associated with bravoite, dwornikite, lignite, minasragrite, pyrite, quartz, stanleyite and sulphur (Mindat).

Localities

At the type locality, the Ragra Mine, Huayllay District, Pasco Province, Pasco, Peru, patrónite occurs as an interstitial filling in the core of a porous 2.5 m layer of admixed vanadium bearing minerals. The minerals are in fissures that cut red shale. Associated minerals include sulphur, bravoite, pyrite, minasragrite, stanleyite, dwornikite, quartz, vanadian lignite and natural coke (HOM).
Patrónite was a major ore mineral in what was the world's richest vanadium deposit (Webmin).
