Pegmatites

Rosenbuschite occurs in some nepheline syenites and related pegmatites (Webmin, HOM).

Localities

At Mont Saint-Hilaire, La Vallée-du-Richelieu RCM, Montérégie, Québec, Canada, rosenbuschite occurs in miarolytic cavities in nepheline syenite (Dana).

At Cuma, Phlegrean Fields Volcanic Complex, Naples, Campania, Italy, the marmolite trachytic phonolitic lava domes are among the oldest Phlegrean products cropping out. The Cuma rocks have an agpaite groundmass, with early K-feldspar, iron-rich clinopyroxene, ferro-edenite and sodalite and late rosenbuschite, fluorite, baddeleyite, pyrochlore, britholite, monazite, aegirine (often zirconium-rich) and exceptionally iron– and manganese- rich olivine (Geological Magazine 149.3.532–550).

At the type locality, Skutesundskjær, Barkevik area, Langesundsfjorden, Larvik, Vestfold, Norway, rosenbuschite occurs in a fluorite-bearing nepheline syenite pegmatite (Dana, Mindat). Associated minerals include biotite, aegirine, natrolite, sodalite, nepheline, molybdenite, zircon, tritomite, lavenite, rinkite, eudialyte and leucophanite (HOM, Mindat).

At Gränna, Jönköping, Jönköping County, Sweden, rosenbuschite occurs with eudialyte, fluorite and arfvedsonite (Dana).
