Although suredaite was approved as long ago as 1997, to date (July 2023) it has been reported only from the type locality.

Localities

At the type locality, the Oploca Vein System, Pirquitas Ag-Sn Deposit, Mina Pirquitas, Rinconada Department, Jujuy Province, Argentina, suredaite was observed in symmetrically banded veins, associated with sphalerite, arsenopyrite, pyrite-marcasite, cassiterite, cylindrite, franckeite, hocartite, rhodostannite and various silver-antimony and silver-bismuth sulphosalts in minor amounts. Suredaite occurs in layers up to 1 cm in thickness as aggregates of radially arranged tabular-prismatic crystals (AM 85.1066-1075).
