Pegmatites

Kuliokite-(Y) occurs as inclusions in fluorite or on fissures in microcline pegmatites, associated with thalénite-(Y), xenotime-(Y), kainosite-(Y), bastnäsite, keiviite-(Y), keiviite-(Yb), quartz and fluorite (HOM, Dana). It alters to kamphaugite-(Y), kainosite-(Y) and tengerite-(Y) (Dana).

Localities

At Hoydalen, Tordal, Norway, kuliokite-(Y) occurs in amazonite-bearing pegmatites (Dana).

At the type locality, the Ploskaya Mountain, Western Keivy Massif, Lovozersky District, Murmansk Oblast, Russia, kuliokite-(Y) occurs in amazonite-bearing pegmatites as inclusions in fluorite or as platy crystals in fissures in fluorite and quartz. Associated minerals include thalénite-(Y), xenotime, kainosite-(Y) and bastnäsite (AM 73.192).
