Pegmatites

Letnikovite-(Ce) is a new mineral, approved in 2023 and to date (February 2024) reported only from the type locality.

Localities

At the type locality, the Dara-i-Pioz Massif, Districts of Republican Subordination, Tajikistan, letnikovite-(Ce) occurs in a quartzolite-like peralkaline pegmatite, as isolated prismatic grains up to 0.03 × 0.1 mm in a quartzpectolite aggregate. Associated minerals are quartz, fluorite, pectolite, baratovite, aegirine, leucosphenite, neptunite, reedmergnerite, orlovite, sokolovaite, mendeleevite-(Ce), odigitriaite, pekovite, zeravshanite, kirchhoffite and garmite (MM 87.807-818).
