Localities

At the type locality, the Mushiston Deposit, Kaznok Valley, Pendzhikent District, Zeravshan Range, Sughd, Tajikistan, mushistonite occurs in the oxidised zone of the tin deposit, associated with varlamoffite, as zoned concentric deposits, replacing stannite. Associated minerals include chalcopyrite, sphalerite and galena as well as stannite and varlamoffite (HOM, AM 70.1331).

At the Etta Mine, Keystone, Keystone Mining District, Pennington County, South Dakota, USA, mushistonite occurs in a zoned pegmatite, associated with cassiterite, pseudomalachite and quartz (HOM).
