Plumboferrite occurs in bands in metamorphic carbonate rock in lead-bearing Fe-Mn orebodies, associated with hematite, magnesioferrite- jacobsite-magnetite solid solutions, lindqvistite, calcite, andradite, phlogopite, hedyphane, svabite, native copper and cuprite.
