Localities

At the Långban mine, Långban Ore District, Filipstad, Värmland County, Sweden, tetrawickmanite was found on a museum specimen from the metamorphosed iron-manganese orebody, associated with magnetite and baryte (HOM).

At the type locality, the Foote Lithium Co. Mine, Kings Mountain Mining District, Cleveland county, North Carolina, USA, tetrawickmanite occurs as a very rare late-formed mineral in fractures in a lithium-rich pegmatite. Associated minerals include bavenite, eakerite, albite, quartz and siderite-rhodochrosite.
Crystals up to 1 mm in diameter belong to the tetragonal crystal system, point group 4/m, and they showed the crystal forms {112} (tetragonal dipyramid), {001} (pinacoid) and {100} (tetragonal prism) (AM 58.966-967, HOM).
