Localities

At the type locality, the Golden Giant mine, Hemlo gold deposit, Bomby Township, Thunder Bay District, Ontario, Canada, vaughanite is a very rare primary mineral found in a drill core from a low temperature hydrothermal gold deposit. Associated minerals include pääkkönenite, stibarsen, realgar, arsenic, chalcostibite, quartz and calcite (HOM, AM 75.710, MM 53.79).
