Localities

At the type locality, the PGE (platinum group element) occurrence, Damiao complex, Luanping County, Chengde, Hebei, China, yixunite occurs Intimately associated with damiaoite. They occur as globules (product of complexes in hydrothermal solution), 1-2 mm across, in the contact-metamorphosed garnet - hornblende - pyroxenite in contact with anorthosite and granite. Associated minerals include almandine, hornblende, diopside, augite, plagioclase, titanite, apatite, chalcopyrite, bornite, magnetite, covellite, carrollite, goethite, columbite, cooperite, sperrylite, moncheite, and other new minerals fengluanite, dayingite, kotulskite and daomanite (AM 61.185-186, HOM, Mindat).
