Fumeroles

Although parageorgbokiite was approved in 2006, to date (October 2022) it has been reported only from the type localty.

Localities

The type locality, the second scoria cone, Northern Breakthrough, Great Fissure eruption, Tolbachik volcano, Kamchatka Krai, Russia, is a volcanic fumarole whose temperature of formation is estimated to have been 400–625°C. Parageorgbokiite was found as green, transparent plates up to 0.1 mm in size and in close intergrowths with cotunnite and other copper selenite chlorides ilinskite, chloromenite, burnsite and allochalcoselite. Other associates include tolbachite, sofiite, melanothallite, hydrokenoralstonite, gold, euchlorine and chalcocyanite (CM 45.929-934, Mindat).
