At the type locality, the Santín Mine, Cerro de las Fajas, Santa Catarina, Santa Catarina Municipality, Guanajuato, Mexico, ordoñezite occurs in small cassiterite-bearing veinlets in rhyolite associated with cassiterite, cristobalite, tridymite, quartz, montmorillonite, hyalite, hematite, sanidine, topaz and fluorite (AM 40.64-69, Mindat, HOM).

At El Antimonio, Caborca Municipality, Sonora, Mexico, ordoñezite is associated with byströmite, chenevixite and malachite (HOM).
